These Minute to Win It games are perfect for any Halloween party, family game night, or even a classroom party. What I love most about these games is that the supplies are very minimal, the games are easy to set-up and clean-up and each game can be adapted to suit the age level of your child or students.
I put together a list of our favorite Halloween themed Minute to Win It game . We used these one night for our family game night and they were a hit. Get yourself a timer or set your phone from one minute and let the fun begin!
1. Candy Corn Drop
The object of this game is to drop as many candy corn into a bucket or bowl in 1 minute. There are a few variations depending on the age of your child. I had my 7 year old stand on a chair but my 4 year old stood on the ground. The key is that they can’t bend their knees or bend at the hips. This one is so fun and giving them a countdown makes it really intense. At the end of the minute, count how many candy corn made it into the bucket.
2. Spider Transfer
This one is my favorite. All you need are straws, plates and plastic spiders. The object of the game is to move as many spiders from plate one to plate two. Players can only use their straw and suction. Hands are not allowed to touch the spiders.
If you have younger children, I recommend setting up the spiders so that they are not touch and all are right side up. This will make it a little bit more manageable for little kids.
3. Spider Races
Using the plastic spiders and straws, players have 1 minute to blow their spider across the table. The player that blows it off first, or the farthest in one minute, is the winner. If the spider falls off the table before the end, the player must go back to the start. If you have a smaller table, you could set the game up to see how many spiders they can blow off in a minute.
4. Candy Corn Stand Up
The object of this game is stand as many candy corn upright in one minute. This one was a bit too challenging for my 4 year old but my 7 year old loved it.
5. Candy Corn Races
This challenge uses a spoon, a plate of candy corn and a bowl or bucket. Players have 1 minute to scoop up candy corn with their spoon, walk either around a table or across the room and drop the candy into the bucket. Play continues until the timer goes off. To make this fair for all ages, you can change the distance that each player has to travel. Older kids have to go across the whole room and younger ones maybe just half way across.
I made my boys touch the wall so they had a target and I could keep an eye out for cheaters.
