Easy Halloween Themed Snacks For Kids

My kids snack ALL…THE…TIME! Now that it is almost Halloween, I decided to make them some fun themed snacks. I’m no Martha Stewart. I am a mom that has very little time and energy to go over the top. Because I don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen, something that is quick and easy is always a win for me. I put together a list of all my favorite Halloween snacks that are incredibly simple to make. Most of these can be made with materials you already have at home and only take five minutes to put together. These are perfect for lunchboxes, children’s parties, team snack bags or just an afternoon munchie.

Cutie Halloween Treat

Cutie-O-Lanterns

These are so simple to make and are actually a heathy snack. Grab a sharpie marker and a bag of these little oranges and turn them into Halloween Jack-o-Lanterns. TIPS: Start with room temperature cuties, wipe them with a damp clothe, then dry it really well before drawing with the Sharpie. Although Sharpies are permanent, I have sometimes had trouble with the oil from the orange drying the tip of the marker.

Have fun with these! Just like carving pumpkins, you can give them any face you’d like; silly, scary, spooky, or frightening.

String Cheese Ghosts

String Cheese Ghosts

Another super simple, but very popular snack, is the string cheese ghost. It just takes a Sharpie marker, string cheese, and a rag or paper towel. Wipe the cheese plastic to remove any condensation. Add round eyes and a long, open mouth. BOO! Your kids will love these!

Mandarine Orange Cup Pumpkins

Mandarin Orange Cup Pumpkins

These cute pumpkins are adorable and sweet to eat! All it takes is a sharpie and these prepackaged mandarin orange cups. If the cups have printed words or numbers on the top, you can easily wipe it off if nail polish remover and a cotton ball. Try adding different mouth shapes for a variety of looks

Skeleton Popcorn Bags

Skeleton Popcorn Bags

These are so adorable and take less than five minutes to put together. Using a sandwich bag, cut the front flap then draw a skeleton face on the bottom half of the bag using a Sharpie marker. Fill the bag with about 1 1/2 cups of popcorn and tie it off with your favorite black, orange or halloween ribbon.

Jack-o-lantern quesadillas

Pumpkin Quesadillas

We make a lot of quesadillas in our house so this Halloween version makes an appearance every year. This is basically a regular quesadilla except you “carve” a face into the top tortilla before heating it in a pan. The cheese melts and crisps up perfectly to make this spooky treat.

To make these, I used the mini tortillas (flour street tacos) but you can use any size torilla.

Mummy Dogs

Mummy Dogs

These are my kids’ favorite dinner on Halloween night. The mix of buttery roll and savory hot dogs all wrapped up like a mummy makes my kids beg for seconds. I start by unrolling the crescent rolls and slicing the dough into strips. Then I wrap the strips around the hot dog and place it on a greased baking sheet. I bake them at 375 degrees for 12 minutes or until they are lightly browned. Last, add two eyes with mustard.
