If you are brave enough to go camping with kids, you know that the sun rises early in the morning, and so will your children. There usually isn’t a drive-thru Starbucks for miles so mastering a perfect cup of “camping coffee” is definitely a survival skill.
One of my husband’s favorite camping rituals is to enjoy his coffee while sitting around a morning fire.
Our camping french press has proven to make the perfect cup. We’ve tried percolators before but through trial and error we found that this french press works wonders and because ours does not have glass and is compact, it is perfect for packing for any outdoor trip.
How to Make the Perfect Cup of Camping Coffee:
Fill the French Press pot with water and bring it to a boil on your camp stove.
Once boiling, add approximately 5 scoops of ground coffee to the pot and let it brew for a five minutes.
Press the plunger down into the pot, trapping any grounds.
Fill your cup and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature (well, as much peace and quiet as your children will allow).
